TAYS' Yoga Teacher Training (YTT)
TAYS is unique in its “therapeutic approach” towards the study and practice of yoga and we are proud to be one of the longest running and most popular 200 and 500 hour yoga teacher training programs in Atlantic Canada. Grounded in the intention of Ahimsa, the observances of non-harming and kindness, TAYS emphasizes safe and skillful alignment and injury prevention from both Eastern and Western perspectives.
Our highly-regarded 200 hour and 500 hour programs are designed to certify students who are interested in teaching a Hatha vinyasa style of yoga. Students can complete a foundation 200 hour Yoga Teacher Training course, with the option to build on these fundamentals to complete a 500 hour certification (300 additional hours). Both our 200 and 500 hour YTT programs are registered with Yoga Alliance and meet and exceed their requirements. TAYS' YTT programs differs from others as our backgrounds in physiotherapy, occupational therapy, kinesiology and osteopathy keep our program focused and clear.

Developed by Mike Munro and Maxine Jeffrey, our teachers, Nicola Parker, Andrea Andriopoulos, Helen Fong and Abra Morrison have different educational backgrounds, yoga and life experience and skill-set. A frequent comment following our teacher training weekends is about the appreciation of our teachers and how we work together to make the program informative and complete.
TAYS' YTT 200 HourMost yoga studios or facilities require yoga teachers to have a basic 200 hour training from a registered yoga school. When you graduate from TAYS' 200 hour YTT, you will have the skills required to develop, structure and teach public yoga classes.

TAYS' YTT 500 HourThe TAYS 500 hour program consists of two segments. The first segment is the 200 hour foundation program followed by an additional 300 hours. These first 200 hours can be achieved through attending our "weekend programs" (200 hour YTT) based in Halifax. Please refer to the full schedule included at the end of this page.
